John Adler, MD, is the Dorothy & TK Chan Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology Emeritus at Stanford University and co-founder & CEO of ZAP Surgical Systems, where he co-invented the ZAP-X® Gyroscopic Radiosurgery® platform. He is a widely recognized pioneer in the field of radiosurgery and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Dr. Adler is also the inventor of the CyberKnife® and founder of Accuray, Inc.
Dr. Adler’s life work is focused on finding smarter solutions for physicians and their patients. In 2018, Dr. Adler was presented with The Cushing Award for Technical Excellence and Innovation in Neurosurgery by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). He earned his MD at Harvard Medical School (1980) and his AB, at Harvard College (1976).
